Amy Conroy is an award-winning artist based in Texas, USA.
Amy's early admiration of her mother's garden sparked a lifelong love of gardening and plants. She's merged her passions for gardening and art by creating vibrant, stylized paintings of the flowers in her garden. Acrylics are her preferred medium, enjoying how their vivid colors explode onto the canvas.
She won Best in Show in Fusion Art’s Leaves & Petals 2025 Art Exhibition in May 2025.
Amy Conroy is a Houston-based artist who specializes in vibrant, stylized, bold botanicals in acrylics. Amy’s inspiration stems from her large collection of flowering plants in her garden. Her work explores the vivid colors and intricate shapes found in natural flora, often exaggerated to draw the viewers’ attention to those nuances. Her stroke work is sculptural and bold. Amy’s art has been accepted into many juried shows including the CAL International Show twice, The National Society of Artists, LSAG Convention Show and Fusion Art, and has won many awards at local and regional shows. Amy is continuing to build her botanically inspired portfolio.
My artwork delves into the fascinating and beautiful world of plants and flowers, primarily focusing on the often-overlooked variations of colors and shapes. From working with a vast diversity of plants for over the last 10 years at a botanical garden, many of which have found a home in my extensive garden, I have studied and catalogued many images of plants. Those images are then used as a framework for my compositions. My use of bold and sculptural brush strokes exaggerates and intensifies the colors and shapes to draw the viewer closer, to magnify what I see. My goal is to encourage greater appreciation for all the natural splendor around us, and to encourage others to respect, nurture, and protect the many species of flora.
