Elizabeth Kayl is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning fine art photographer. She is based in Loveland, Colorado, USA.

Elizabeth has always been told she has an “eye” for capturing a good photograph. Driving down the road or walking along a city sidewalk, she is constantly seeking to find that perfect composition or subject to frame in her mind.

Elizabeth enjoys traveling and never explores without her camera, poised and ready to provide the next canvas to paint through a lens. However, it wasn’t until the pandemic hit that she became serious about sharing her work with a broader audience than just her family.

Elizabeth has won numerous awards including Best in Show in the Photography & Digital category of Fusion Art’s 4th Into the Wild Quarterly Art Exhibition for her “Sunset Sentinel” photograph. To learn more about this photograph, read Elizabeth’s artist statement below.

Elizabeth Kayl Artist Statement

My photography is inspired by both the ordinary and the extraordinary, especially with my favorite subjects of colorful architecture, birds, and unusual landscapes. "Sunset Sentinel" has an eerie Halloween feel to it, with the blackness of the Grackle, his piercing golden eyes, and the orange skies enveloping him. The photo was taken on my backyard fence during the time when dozens of Grackle birds flock daily to take advantage of my good nature and feed them. This particular Grackle is the subject of many of my photographs and in this shot, he's clearly standing large and in charge!
