Jana Jaros is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning artist. She is based in the Ottawa Valley, Canada and her works can be found in collections, both nationally in Canada and internationally.
Born to creative parents, while growing up, Jana was encouraged to pursue her creative dreams and she started to paint and draw. She won her first art contest a child and it inspired her to pursue art throughout her education.

Although she primarily considers herself a figurative painter, Jana’s history and subject matter varies from figures to landscapes, still life, murals and scenic/set backdrops.

Jana Jaros Artist Biography
Jana Jaros graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design University, Toronto, Ontario, Canada in Interdisciplinary Art. Following her graduation Jana became a scenic painter/artist for theatre & film sets as well as commercial and heritage and excelled in these fields because of her love for them. Recently she has been involved in restoration of outdoor mural work. She continues to be supportive of the arts in her area by providing an online arts hub: ARTSCOVSA. The group has grown since its inception in 2019, involving many disciplines of the arts and culture.
Jana Jaros Artist Statement
“Colours” is anything but a still life. It was an idea that refused to be still in my mind. I could talk about chroma and hue, but “Colours” is a personalty that creates a personal space. Colour, in general, is intrinsically linked to my love of expression and what I do. It speaks for me; it allows my introverted thoughts to speak with a bold expressive voice. Without my paints, narratives would lose expression and canvases would be an empty stage or book. Whether it is exploding or subdued I owe a lot to colour, my ink.
