Joanna Stawowy is an internationally acclaimed award-winning digital artist based in Poland.  She creates intricate digital compositions using Adobe Dimension.

The main theme of her work is the holistic concept of human – the idea that the body and psyche are inextricably linked with each other.

Joanna’s series entitled “Artificial Compositions” is a reflection on the digital reality and ongoing digitization. It is also a reflection on the perception of reality and on the philosophical conflict between empiricism and rationalism.

Joanna has won numerous awards including Best in Show in Fusion Art’s Still Life Art Exhibition in June 2023 and the 8th Annual Figures & Faces Art Exhibition in October 2022.

Joanna Stawowy Artist Statement

A consistent theme in my work is the idea of the body and psyche being inextricably linked. As such, I am interested in medicine and psychology - mainly psychology of personality and creativity, but also cognitive errors, psychosomatic diseases, etc. I also treat science and art holistically, because both of them are a manifestation of human creativity. My work also includes topics related to mathematics, chemistry, biology and physics. My “Artificial Compositions” series asks the questions - how to distinguish truth from fiction? How not to be fooled by your senses? What if sensory cognition is defective? And does mental cognition always lead to correct conclusions?
