Maureen Ravnik is an award-winning, primarily self-taught photographer and digital artist based Littleton, Colorado, USA. She was born and raised in Minnesota and a brief visit to Colorado sold her on attending college there to pursue a career in sales & marketing. She stayed and never looked back.
Working and traveling extensively in that discipline opened her eyes to the wonders of the American west and reawakened childhood tendencies to creatively document her discoveries. She began making images of the American west in hopes of preserving the history, the culture, and the dreams that shaped the west.
Maureen’s goal is to continually look for new ways to challenge herself and express what she feels. That is what inspires her to never reject possibilities in subject matter.
Maureen has been awarded and featured in several Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery online exhibitions. She was awarded 1st Place Overall in the 3rd Annual “Patterns, Textures & Forms” Online Art Exhibition in October 2019. She was awarded two Solo Art Exhibitions in July 2019 and December 2021 and four Artist Showcases in February 2018, March 2020, January 2021 and August 2022.

Maureen Ravnik Artist Statement
My methods and techniques are largely self-taught. I love capturing scenery, wildlife, and exploring other methods for interpreting what I see and experience along the way. I am deeply inspired by the work of Ansel Adams and Art Wolfe. My work is also derived from my imagination. My greatest satisfaction comes from taking the file from the camera and into the computer to develop composites. The results reflect my personal feelings, beliefs, events, culture, etc. that are best expressed through artistic interpretations. My work is delivered in an array of styles that arc between realism, passionately abstract and doggedly figurative.
