Tom Ashbourne is an award-winning sculptor based in Wellington, Ontario, Canada.
As an art lover and collector, Tom’s interests are eclectic – an exploration of colours, shapes and textures. After a successful career as a corporate executive, he turned his attentions to his favorite art form – sculpture, where he found his passion and himself in the world of fine art.
Tom’s sculptures exist as an extension of his artistic experiences. He reveals the stone’s essence and vision of its true self. Tom naturally thinks in 3D, a gift that few people share. He can see things in the raw stone, and find the best way to bring them to life. His assemblage sculptures are conceptual designs in thought-provoking materials and are contemporary and abstract, inviting you to experience them within your own context and personal interpretation of their meaning.
Tom is an Elected Member in Sculptors Society of Canada (SSC), Society of Canadian Artists (SCA) and Ontario Society of Artists (OSA).
Tom’s sculptures are featured in some of the world’s top art exhibitions and fine art magazines. Tom has received a huge number of national and international awards.
As a professional artist I primarily sculpt in stone, using its natural energy and colors to create beautiful contemporary abstract sculptures. My signature style is sensuous curves, touchable textures, and compelling tension between positive and negative space. My intent is to communicate meaning through form and energy.
